Why people give up on mobile brand notifications


People say that the main reasons why they refuse notifications from mobile apps of brands are too often to send messages and because notifications are not relevant, according to recent research from Airship.

Report is based on data from a survey of 9,143 respondents in Australia, France, Germany, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Some 51% of respondents said they gave up brand communication on their smartphones because the messages were too frequent, and 40% said they gave up because the information in the notices was not relevant / personalized to their needs.

Respondents say that the main reasons they opted for notifications from the brand’s mobile apps are earning current discounts / loyalty rewards (35% of quotes), receiving delivery / delivery warnings (25%) and receiving order receipts / receipts (25 %).
