Google’s December 2021 product review update is complete

Google has confirmed that Update product reviews for December 2021 the introduction is now complete. This update was officially completed a few days before Christmas.

Update product reviews for December 2021. As a reminder, the update of product reviews from December 2021 started to be released around 12:30 pm ET on December 1, 2021. This update took 20 days to be introduced after it was published. So, this update has started December 1, 2021 and lasted until the end December 21, 2021

When and what was felt. Based early data, this update was not a small update. He was bigger than Update product reviews in April 2021 but it seemed to remain quite changeable throughout the introduction. Community chat and tracking tools were pretty good constantly high levels in the past few weeks.

Why we care. If your website offers product review content, you’ll want to check your rankings to see if you’ve been affected. Has your Google organic traffic improved, decreased, or stayed the same?

In the long run, you will want to ensure this in the future, to invest much more detail and effort into the content of the product review so that it is unique and stands out from the competition on the web.

SEO community. The December 2021 product review update, as I said above, probably felt more than the April version. I managed to cover community reaction on one blog publish in a search engine roundtable. Includes some of the early conversations, rankings and social shares from some SEOs. In short, if your site is affected by this update, you’ve probably felt it in a very big way.

What to do if you are affected. Google has provided advice on what to consider if you are negatively affected by this product review update. We published this advice in our original story here. In addition, Google has offered two new best practices regarding this update, one that says it provides more multimedia around reviews of your products, and the other that it provides links to multiple resellers, not just one. Google has released these two items:

  • Provide evidence such as visual, audio, or other links about your own experience with the product, to support your expertise and strengthen the authenticity of your review.
  • Include links to multiple retailers to give the reader the option to purchase from a retailer of your choice.

Update Google Product Reviews. Updating Google Product Reviews aims to promote review content that is above and beyond most of the template information you see on the web. Google has said it will promote these types of product reviews in its search results.

Google does not directly penalize reviews of lower quality products that have “thin content that simply compresses a bunch of products.” However, if you provide such content and find that your ranking is degraded because other content is promoted above yours, it will definitely feel like a punishment. Technically, according to Google, this is not a penalty for your content, Google only rewards websites with more comprehensive review content with a ranking above yours.

Technically, this update should only affect product review content, not other types of content.

Other Google updates this year. This year we have had a number of confirmed updates from Google and many that have not been confirmed. In the most recent order, we had: The Basic update in July 2021, Google MUM introduced June for COVID names and bio slightly enlarged for some features in September (but MUM is not linked to basic updates). Then, the June 28 spam update, the Spam update June 23, the Update experience on Google page, the Update Google Predator Algorithm, the Basic update from June 2021, the Basic update in July 2021, Jul link spam update, and the November spam update rounded up confirmed updates.

Previous kernel updates. The most recent previous kernel update was Basic update for November 2021 which was thrown out hard and fast i completed November 30, 2021. Then it is Basic update in July 2021 who was quick to eject (sort of like this) followed by Basic update from June 2021 and that update was slowly evolving but large. Then we had Basic update in December 2020 and the December update was very large, greater than Basic update in May 2020, and that update was also big and wide and took a a few weeks until full launch. He was before that Basic update January 2020, we had an analysis of that update here. The one before that was Basic update in September 2019. That update he felt weaker to many SEOs and webmasters, as many said it didn’t have as much of an impact as previous core updates.
